There has been a large demand for plant material throughout the state of Florida for the past several years due to the increase in construction related projects that require landscaping. This heightened demand has decreased the availability of numerous plant species that are normally easily located. 2. In order to locate many of the materials we have been tasked with canvasing numerous nurseries throughout the State OF Florida only to find that the plants specified are not available, or if available only in limited quantities. 3. We have sent trucks to nurseries in south Florida and to north Florida with multiple stops to load and ship the plants we have been able to find. 4. We are continuing to source available materials daily to meet the project requirements and have sent requests for additional contacts that may have the needed plants. Many do not respond as they do not have the material and other nurseries give us future available dates well beyond the project timeline. 5.
