Backup Documents 04/11/2023 Item # 4DPROCLAMATION WHEREAS, water is a basic and essential need of every living creature; and WHEREAS, the State of Florida, Water Management Districts, and Collier County are working together to increase awareness about the importance of water conservation; and WHEREAS, Collier County and the State of Florida have designated April, typically a dry month when water demands are most acute, Water Conservation Month, to educate citizens about how they can help save Florida's precious water resources; and WHEREAS, Collier County has always encouraged and supported water conservation, through various educational programs and special events; and WHEREAS, every business, industry, school, and citizen can make a difference when it comes to conserving water; and WHEREAS, every business, industry, school, and citizen can help by saving water and thus promote a healthy economy and community; and WHEREAS, leak prevention is commonly thought to be the first step in conserving water, Collier County will encourage citizens and businesses to focus on fixing leaks; and WHEREAS, Collier County Florida is calling upon each citizen and business to help protect our precious resources by practicing water saving measures and becoming more aware of the need to save water. For this 25th year of Water Conservation Month, there will be a special focus on fixing leaks and all forms of water loss; NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that April 2023 be designated as WATER CONSERVATION MONTH IN COLLIER COUNTY DONE AND ORDERED THIS 11th Day of April 2023.
