Backup Documents 04/26/2022 Item # 4F 4F PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the Collier County Recycling Ordinance Number 2009-56, established the Waste Reduction Awards Program (the WRAP award); and WHEREAS, the WRAP award recognizes businesses, institutions, and multi-family residences for enhanced and innovative recycling programs; and WHEREAS, the Adaptive Inclusive Recreation program contributes to the greater good of Collier County by advocating the "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" message, thereby helping to prolong the usable life of the Collier County Landfill; and WHEREAS, the Adaptive Inclusive Recreation program has demonstrated its commitment to recycling and source reduction by: • Proactively evaluating their recycling program and taking deliberate action to make improvements and reduce contamination; • Implementing a recycling art class that allows participants to learn the importance of recycling and reusing material in creative ways; • Installing appropriate signs and education to assist the public and employees how to properly dispose of waste; and • Working with the Collier County Waste Reduction team to increase public awareness of proper recycling practices. WHEREAS, the WRAP award program includes a plaque and space on the County's website showcasing eco-friendly business practices and recycling programs; and WHEREAS, the Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Division congratulates the Adaptive Inclusive Recreation program; NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that we congratulate ADAPTIVE INCLUSIVE RECREATION DONE AND ORDERED THIS 26th Day of April 2022. -� J ,�J BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ���, COLLIER CO ORIDA (.1).
