WHEREAS, Collier County Museums is hosting its annual Immokalee Cattle Drive & Jamboree on March 18, 2023, and seeks to temporarily close and reroute traffic on a portion of State Road 29 (the County's Event Map and Maintenance of Traffic for Road Closure and Detour Route Plan are incorporated herein by reference and attached hereto as Exhibit "A"); and WHEREAS, prior to the temporary closure of a state road for a special event, pursuant to the Florida Administrative Code Rule 14-65.0035, the County must determine that a temporary closing of the road is necessary for the event and obtain written approval from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT); and WHEREAS, the County is required to send a copy of a duly executed resolution authorizing the special event to FDOT to obtain prior written approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY FLORIDA, that: 1, The Board of County Commissioners hereby authorizes the Collier County Museums' annual Cattle Drive & Jamboree on March 18, 2023. 2. The Board of County Commissioners determines that the temporary closing of a portion of State Road 29 is necessary for the Collier County Museums to host its annual Cattle Drive & Jamboree on March 18, 2023.
