WHEREAS, First Baptist Academy - Naples (FBA) football program is among
the newer high school varsity football programs in the state with
a relatively young 14-year history; and
WHEREAS, the FBA football program competes with other high school varsity
teams in Class 15 High School Football; and
WHEREAS, FBA made its first trip to the state semifinals a decade ago and
this past year, FBA achieved victory in the state semifinals winning
their 4th regional championship; and
WHEREAS, on December 10, 2022, the First Baptist Academy Varsity Football
Team played Trinity Catholic in the Florida High School Athletic
Association (FHSAA) Class 15 State Championship Game in
Tallahassee at Gene Cox Stadium; and
WHEREAS, FBA succeeded by delivering a 21 - 3 victory over Trinity Catholic;
and
WHEREAS, this achievement makes FBA the third team in Collier County to
ever win a state football championship.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that First Baptist Academy 2022 Varsity
Football Team be recognized and honored for their outstanding
achievement as FHSAA Class 1S State Champions.
