EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize a FY 2022 budget amendment to transfer reserves, in the amount of
$40,000, within Combined 911 System Fund (611) for FY 2022 reimbursements to the Sheriff.
OBJECTIVE: Obtain Board authorization for a FY 2022 budget amendment to ensure adequate budget for FY
2022 reimbursements to the Sheriff.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Combined 911 System Fund was established to provide for costs associated with the
Emergency 911 telephone system. Revenues collected are from a surcharge to cellular and land -line telephone
users and remitted to the County from the telephone company. In FY 2022 a budget amendment is required to
transfer funding from Fund (611) reserves to fund reimbursements to the Sheriff for operation of this system.
Section 129.06 (2) of the Florida State Statutes provides the board the authority to amend a prior fiscal year's
budget within the first 60 days of the new fiscal year.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funding in the amount of $40,000 is available within Combined 911 System Fund (611)
Reserves. A FY 2022 budget amendment is required to transfer reserve funds to cover FY 2022 reimbursements to
the Sheriff for cost related to the emergency 911 telephone system.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this request.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal issues and
requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
RIECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners authorize a FY 2022 budget amendment to
transfer reserves, in the amount of $40,000, within Combined 911 System Fund (611) for FY 2022
reimbursements to the Sheriff.
