EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to create a public website to increase awareness about Site Development
Plan and Site Development Plan Amendment applications, and authorize staff to move
forward.
OBJECTIVE: That the Board of County Commissioners direct staff to develop a web-based
map, using information from the Cityview portal, to provide residents locations and information
about Site Development Plan (SDP) and Site Development Plan Amendment (SDPA)
applications.
CONSIDERATIONS: Site Development Plans (SDPs) and Site Development Plan
Amendments (SDPAs) are reviewed by the Development Review Division and approved
administratively in accordance with LDC 10.02.03.
At the September 13, 2022 BCC meeting, the Commissioners directed staff to determine the
feasibility of increasing public awareness by posting signs for all new SDPs and SDPAs when
abutting residential development; additionally staff was directed to review other possibilities for
notifying the general public of these types of applications, including mailed notices and upgrades
to the County’s website. The continuation of sending detailed scheduled reports to
Commissioners and public organizations was also discussed.
All applications for petitions and permits are currently available online within the Collier County
Cityview portal. The Cityview portal homepage includes a link titled “GMD GIS Maps.” In
addition to the currently available maps, staff suggests that a new web -based map could be
created and made available on the Collier County Growth Management Community
Development’s website to allow residents to easily search for active SDP and SDPA
applications.
Staff will continue to monitor public input for further evaluation and necessary enhancements,
FISCAL IMPACT: The fiscal impact associated with this action is staff time required to create
and maintain the web-map, as well as continuation of the currently licensed ESRI software.
