Ms. Victoria responded that it is still in design, the design was pushed out for around a year. Mr. Bernardo Barnhart said if there are nearly 2000 students, what other data is needed for a new school to be built? Mr. Aristeo Alviar suggested to Ms. McGowen that when CCPS experts on the numbers do come for the next CRA meeting, they should be ready to answer all the questions being asked. A & M Property Maintenance Report & Schedule (Enclosure 5) Staff provided board a copy of enclosure 5 which is a copy of the work completed in March and the upcoming landscape maintenance schedule for April and May. Mr. Armando Yzaguirre explained the extra trash pickup got approved, which will help with the trash throughout Main Street. He also brought up the issue of some pipes breaking while signs were being put up for an event and suggested putting signs somewhere else to prevent this from happening again. Ms. Norma Garcia referred to the March MSTU meeting under Project Manager Observation Field Report and asked about the tree at the St. Matthews Thrift Store. Staff reassured the trees were replanted by St. Matthews at no expense to the MSTU Board. Mr. Bernardo Barnhart suggested an idea of putting something as permanent display where events can be displayed long-term, so this issue doesn’t keep happening. 23.A.3 Packet Pg. 426 Attachment: MSTU Meeting Minutes - 4.27.22 (22696 : Immokalee MSTU Advisory Board - June 30,2022) Enclosure 2 4 Mr. Armando Yzaguirre suggested putting something on the right side because visitors are coming in through the right lane of SR 29 and the triangle is on the left so they would have to look across the street to see the signs. Staff explained the triangle is maintained by the MSTU Board, but the road is an FDOT road. Mr. Yzaguirre also mentioned he may have to cap some lines on the pipes so there may be some dryness in the plants until there is some rain. 2. TIGER Grant updates Staff announced that the TIGER Grant public informational meeting will be held on May 25, 2022. Ms. Lorraine Lantz from Transportation Planning confirmed the meeting will be held Wednesday May 25, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at CareerSource in Immokalee, FL. They said the turn is not wide enough for them. 00:49:25 Lupita Vazquez Reyes: What was the original school capacity for IMS? 00:51:14 Lupita Vazquez Reyes: So this presentation is what is coming in 20 years? We need a new school yesterday!!!! 00:52:33 Lupita Vazquez Reyes: So with that logic, the addition at the high school is more of the same and not real answers to needing a new school that will give our students room to actually grow, learn and BREATHE! 00:54:24 Lupita Vazquez Reyes: This is a frustrating topic, and people feel this issue is silo'd. 00:57:29 Lupita Vazquez Reyes: We aren't that special, obviously. Or we would have what is appropriate and adequate! 00:57:31 Christie Betancourt: Next month the CCPS planning group will present at the CRA meeting. 00:58:13 Lupita Vazquez Reyes: Is the presentation for what is being planned in the next 20 years, as she stated in the beginning? Is that correct? 00:58:28 Christie Betancourt: Yes. 01:01:03 Lupita Vazquez Reyes: That is fair, but we also need to not keep teachers here who have figured out how to just do the minimum and aren't showing results. 01:01:43 Lupita Vazquez Reyes: Please forward my comments to the CCPS rep present. Or can I get her email? 01:08:07 Christie Betancourt: We will send the email and cc you. 01:08:36 Lupita Vazquez Reyes: 01:13:39 Lupita Vazquez Reyes: I would love to the CRA and MSTU have a table at that Tiger Grant open house. 01:17:15 Lupita Vazquez Reyes: Has 1st street project design had public input/comment? 01:21:33 Lupita Vazquez Reyes: Is Immokalee Water and Sewer involved in 1st street design? storm water drainage, runoff or is it just focused on lighting? 01:27:11 Lorraine Lantz: Send me the information if there is a new opportunity for a Safe Routes to School application in the fall we can evaluate the opportunity 23.A.3 Packet Pg. 430 Attachment: MSTU Meeting Minutes - 4.27.22 (22696 : Immokalee MSTU Advisory Board - June 30,2022) 23.A.3Packet Pg. 431Attachment: MSTU Meeting Minutes - 4.27.22 (22696 : Immokalee MSTU Advisory Board - June 30,2022) Joint Meeting of the Collier County Community Redevelopment Agency Immokalee Local Redevelopment Advisory Board and the Immokalee Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee. Why can't we think outside the box, as an almost debt free CCPS? The money has to be there and/or funds funneled for this. 01:21:08 Lupita Vazquez: Why do we need to wait for these few developments? CCPS keeps saying the money and growth isn't here, but the need for our students is. 01:22:13 Maria Cardenas: They typing going on makes it very difficult to hear the meeting. 01:24:29 Graciela Cervantes: I agree on not having to wait for these developments. IMS & IHS are very overcrowded to the point where it puts a strain on teachers because they have so many students and feel like they aren’t able to do enough for them. 01:28:22 Lupita Vazquez: It sounds like we should be okay with an almost max capacity. can we see a comparison to Naples, Golden Gate schools? 01:28:33 Marilyn Gijon: If you have any questions, please raise your hand. If not, your questions will be emailed to the CCPS presenters. 01:29:08 Lupita Vazquez: Thank you Marilyn. Please email my questions and comments.
