Resolution 2022-094 RESOLUTION NO.2022 - 94 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING EXHIBIT "A" TO RESOLUTION NO. 2013-239, THE LIST OF SPEED LIMITS ON COUNTY- MAINTAINED ROADS, TO REFLECT SPEED LIMIT CHANGES ON PORTIONS OF CELESTE DRIVE,CR 29(COLLIER AVENUE/BROADWAY AVENUE E./COPELAND AVENUE S.), GOODLAND BAY DRIVE, LELY ISLAND BOULEVARD,AND SAN MARCO ROAD. WHEREAS, pursuant to Florida Statute, Chapter 316, Collier County Ordinance No. 91-25, as amended, and Resolution No. 2013-239, the Board of County Commissioners ("Board") has the authority to establish and alter speed limits by a resolution filed with the Clerk to the Board that creates a single comprehensive codification of all speed limits on county-maintained roads; and WHEREAS, the Board finds that there is a continuing need to enact and change speed limits throughout the County in accordance with changing needs and circumstances, in conformity with criteria promulgated by the State Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS,it is the purpose of this Resolution to amend Exhibit"A"to Resolution No.2013- 239, as amended, to reflect a change of the speed limit at five separate locations as described herein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY,FLORIDA as follows: 1. The Board of County Commissioners hereby restates and reauthorizes all prior- approved speed limits on Collier County-maintained roads,which have been compiled and attached as Exhibit"A". 2. Exhibit "A" to Resolution No. 2013-239, as amended and attached hereto, is specifically amended to reflect these changes of the speed limits: A. Reduce the existing speed limit on Celeste Drive in Lely Resort from 35 miles per hour to 30 miles per hour;and B. Revise speed limits near Everglades City along various segments of County Road 29, Collier Avenue,Broadway Avenue E., and Copeland Avenue S.; and C. Post the 25 miles per hour regulatory speed limit on Goodland Bay Drive northeast of the Immokalee Road/Collier Boulevard intersection; and D. Post the 25 miles per hour regulatory speed limit on Lely Island Boulevard within Lely Resort; and [22-ECM-02725/1714999/1] 1 E. Increase the existing speed limit on a certain portion of San Marco Road (CR 92) connecting US 41 to Marco Island from 45 to 55 miles per hour;and F. Remove a temporary decrease in the speed limit on Immokalee Road (CR 846) beginning approximately 2.25 miles east of Oil Well Grade Road and extending east approximately 1500 feet, as the construction relating to the Gator Canal Bridge Replacement(Project Number 66066)is complete. 3. This Resolution shall be filed with the Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners consistent with the requirements to maintain a single,comprehensive codification of all speed limits on County-maintained roads. Further changes to speed limits on County-maintained roads shall be made by resolution with an amendment to Exhibit"A." 4. The effective date of the speed limits shall be after written notification to the Sheriff's Office and posting of appropriate signage.
