Setbacks in C-4
Staff Analysis (Public Notification):
9
•No required mailed notification for LDC amendments.
•Mailed notification area for CU at petitioner’s site would normally
require 500 feet.
•LDCA proposes one (1) mile mailed notification area.
•Staff recommends increasing public notification area.
•Staff recommends NIM for CU be held between November 1 and
April 1.
Staff Analysis (SDP Considerations):
10
•LDCA requires additional landscaping for off-site boat storage.
•Outdoor storage requires 7-foot wall but no greater than 8 feet.
•Staff determined outdoor boat storage would not be subject to
Manatee Protection Plan.
Staff Recommendation:
11
Staff recommends that the DSAC-LDR Subcommittee recommend
approval of Petition PL20210000766,subject to the following:
•Change LDC section 5.05.02 G.1. to read as follows: The use of the boat yards and
the dry storage of boats, boat trailers, trailered vessels, and other related vehicles at
the off-site location shall be limited to the C-4 zoning district and require conditional use
approval from the BZA in accordance with the standards and procedures set forth in
LDC section 10.08.00 with a mailed notice requirement of 1,000 feet one mile (5,280
feet).”
•The Neighborhood Information Meeting for the conditional use shall occur between
November 1 and April 1.
•A letter of no objection from the Public Services Department shall be required as part of
the conditional use process, to ensure that associated impacts will not cause the public
boat ramp to fall below an acceptable level of service.
