Agenda 05/24/2022 Item #17E (Ordinance - Floodplain Management Ordinance)05/24/2022 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to adopt an ordinance correcting a scrivener's error in Ordinance 2022-07, the last amendment to the Floodplain Management Ordinance, to change cross references; providing for applicability; providing for inclusion in the Code of Laws and Ordinances; providing for conflict and severability; and providing for an effective date. OBJECTIVE: To correct scrivener's error in ordinance 2022-07. CONSIDERATIONS: The Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance No. 2022-07 on March 8, 2022, Item 17A, which amends the County’s Floodplain Management Ordinance No. 2019-01, as amended, to address state mandated changes to the County’s Floodplain Management Ordinance. After adoption, it was discovered the Ordinance cross references the Code of Laws and Ordinances section instead of the ordinance paragraphs in 2 areas. To retain good status with the state, staff desires to correct the scrivener’s error. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this action. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality and requires a majority vote for Board approval.
