Agenda 05/10/2022 Item #16A 2 (Appropriate Revenue Within Road Construction Fund 313)05/10/2022 16.A.2 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to recognize and appropriate revenue within Road Construction fund (313), Project 60172, in the amount of $60,865 for fiscal year 2022, and authorize all necessary budget amendments. OBJECTIVE: To recognize and appropriate revenue within Road Construction fund (313) project 60172, in the amount of $60,865.00 for fiscal year 2022, and authorize all necessary budget amendments. CONSIDERATIONS: Traffic Operations is responsible for the maintenance, repair and replacement of County owned traffic signals, signs and streetlights. Among the responsibilities of Traffic Operations is to look for ways to improve traffic along our roadways. An advanced vehicle detection system was purchased from vendor ITS Plus, Inc., to improve traffic conditions along seven Immokalee Road intersections. The equipment did not meet expectations and the vendor agreed to provide a full refund totaling $60,865.00. The Board approved the disposal of the seven assets at the January 11, 2022, BCC meeting, agenda item 16E2. The equipment was returned and a full refund of $60,865.00 was received by Collier County. Recognizing this revenue will allow for the purchase and installation of new equipment needed for this project. FISCAL IMPACT: Budget amendments are necessary to recognize revenue in the amount of $60,865.00 and place the revenue in the proper expense appropriation within Road Construction Fund (313), Project 60172 Traffic Signals. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this Executive Summary. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal issues and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners authorize the recognition and appropriation of revenue within Road Construction fund (313) Project 60172, in the amount of $60,865 for fiscal year 2022, and authorize all necessary budget amendments.
