EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to accept the FY21-22 State Aid to Libraries Grant funding in the amount of
$166,352 and authorize the necessary Budget Amendment. (Public Services Grant Fund 709)
OBJECTIVE: To carry out the State Aid to Libraries Grant Program and appropriate funding in the
amount of $166,352.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the application for the
State Aid to Libraries Grant Program on September 28, 2021 (Agenda Item #16D8). On March 5, 2022,
the Collier County Public Library received notice of award from the Florida Department of State,
Division of Library and Information Services in the amount of $166,352.
These grant funds can be used for any public library need except for building construction. Funds will be
used to purchase library materials, services, equipment, and other library needs, including the hiring of
temporary personnel to provide direct services to our library customers.
FISCAL IMPACT: A Budget Amendment is required to recognize grant revenue in the amount of
$166,352 in Public Services Grant Fund (709) Project 33802. There is no match requirement for this grant
program.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management impact associated with this
Item.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved for form and legality and requires a majority vote
for Board action. - JAB
RECOMMENDATION: To accept the FY21-22 State Aid to Libraries Grant funding in the amount of
$166,352 and authorize the necessary Budget Amendment.
