Agenda 04/26/2022 Item #16D 2 (BA within Parks Capital Improvement Fund at Veterans Community Park ROller Hockey Rink & Pickleball concession buildings)04/26/2022 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to authorize a Budget Amendment in the amount of $71,700, reallocating funds within Parks Capital Improvement Fund (306), enabling the division to complete planned repairs and renovation work at Veterans Community Park Rol ler Hockey Rink and Pickleball concession buildings. OBJECTIVE: To complete renovation of Veterans Community Park Roller Hockey Rink and Pickleball concession buildings to support vendor/concessionaire operations. CONSIDERATION: Collier County has a vibrant Roller Hockey and Pickleball constituent concentration at Veterans Community Park. The Roller Hockey arena is home to nearly 150 youth for league play in addition to weekly adult games. The Pickleball courts play host to countless games annually for thousands of players. Players, parents, and fans rely on the service offerings of the vendors onsite while utilizing the facility year-round. The planned upgrades and renovations to both the Roller Hockey and Pickleball concession buildings are intended to improve the conditions for our vendors, allowing them to provide a better quality of service to our constituents, and enhance the overall aesthetic of the site. The work will include replacement or repairs of the following items: • Windows • Air Conditioning Units • Flooring • Relocation of Thor Guard lightning detection equipment • Lighting fixtures • Ceiling fans • Baseboards • Painting • Gravel pathways • General building cleaning and maintenance The estimated duration of this project is 30-45 days and is anticipated to be completed in Spring 2022. To accomplish this work, funding is requested to be reallocated from budgeted pool repairs. The pool repairs projects are being completed with alternative funding, so there is no impact to the pool repairs projects for this funding reallocation. FISCAL IMPACT: Total cost of the project is $71,700. A Budget Amendment in the amount of $71,700 is necessary to reallocate funds within Parks CIP Fund (306) from CP Pool Repairs Project 80406 to CP Other PK Repairs 80364. Source of funding is from a transfer from fund 111 - Unincorporated General Fund. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management impact.
