EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve and authorize the chairman to sign one (1) mortgage satisfaction for
the State Housing Initiatives Partnership loan; This transaction is a transfer of a $50,000 mortgage
liability from Habitat for Humanity of Collier County, Inc., to the homeowners provided with home
purchase assistance through the Construction Assistance Strategy. (SHIP Grant Fund 791)
OBJECTIVE: To support the affordability of housing in Collier County through the State Housing
Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) new construction assistance program.
CONSIDERATIONS: SHIP provided funds to a for-profit and a not-for-profit organization to be used
for the new construction costs and all associated fees and permits for residential resale of single -family
housing to the income-qualified homebuyer in Collier County. As a condition of the award, the
organization is required to execute a promissory note and mortgage during construction in the amount of
$50,000 in favor of the County and issue a construction subsidy credit for said amount upon resale at
closing on behalf of the income-qualified homebuyer.
At the time of resale, the income-qualified homebuyers received the construction subsidy in the amount of
$50,000 and executed a promissory note and mortgage in favor of Collier County. As a condition of
award, the homeowners are required to repay the assistance upon sale, refinance, or loss of homestead
exemption during the fifteen-year affordability term.
The following table provides details regarding the associated Habitat for Humanity of Collier County, Inc
mortgage that is proposed to be satisfied due to homebuyer execution of replacement mortgage, also
shown.

Approval of this item will authorize the Chairperson to sign the attached satisfaction of mortgage and the
executed documents shall be recorded in the Public Records of Collier County, Florida.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no Fiscal impact associated with Satisfaction of Mortgage. The recording
fee of $10 will be paid from SHIP Grant Fund (791), Project 33759.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: The SHIP program furthers the goals and objectives of the
Housing Element of the Growth Management Plan.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved for form and legality and requires a majority vote
for Board approval. -JAB
