The Project Priority List provides a comprehensive list of projects that are available for mitigation project consideration, as HMGP funding becomes available. The two primary outcomes include 1. Having a tool to direct county/municipal governments in their ongoing efforts to reduce vulnerability to the impacts produced by both natural and man-made hazards. 2. To help establish funding priorities for currently proposed mitigation projects and develop priority mitigation projects to be completed with such disaster assistance funds as may be available after a disaster and/or annually. In the context of grant types, the LMS is primarily focused on the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) Program Grants, with includes a. Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) b. Building Resilient Infrastructure & Communities (BRIC) Program c. Flood Mitigation Assistance Program (FMA). The LMSWG is organized under the Collier County Citizens Corps Advisory Committee. It serves as the policy development body for the LMS program. The role of the LMSWG is to advise and assist in the formulation, implementation, administration, and refinement of the LMS. The LMS updated every five (5) years and is currently approved until April 13, 2025.
