CONSIDERATION: The Older American Act (OAA) Programs are federal initiatives that provide assistance to older persons and caregivers and are the only federally funded support services programs directed solely toward improving the lives of older persons. These funds are received by Collier County through the Area Agency on Aging of Southwest Florida, Inc. (AAASWFL). The current Standard Contract for the OAA Programs will end on December 31, 2021. Historically, the County's Services for Seniors Program receives continuation funding awards from the grantor agency during the latter part of December for the upcoming grant cycle. To avoid disruption in services and ensure compliance with the grant service agreement requirements, the upcoming funding has been estimated based on the FY21 allocation. When the agreement is received any necessary Budget Amendments to reflect variation in the final allocations will be prepared and presented to the Board of County Commissioners (Board). Approval of this Item will appropriate a budget to reflect grants funding for FY22 in the amount of $1,257,041.36.
