Agenda 10/12/2021 Item #16A12 (Budget Amendment - Project #60172)10/12/2021 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to approve a budget amendment transferring $290,000 from Fund (313) Project 60172 - Traffic Signal to Fund (313) Project 60252 - VBR at Logan Blvd Intersection Improvements. OBJECTIVE: To approve a budget amendment to fund design and right-of-way (ROW) acquisition activities for the future construction of an intersection improvement project on Vanderbilt Beach Road (CR 862) and Logan Boulevard. CONSIDERATIONS: Traffic Operations is in the process of performing a civil engineering project designing intersection improvements consisting of the conversion of the existing span wire traffic signal to a mast arm configuration, geometric roadway improvements to improve traffic operations, and adding lanes to increase the capacity of the intersection. It is estimated that the cost of design will be around $230,000, ROW corner clip acquisition $60,000, and anticipated future construction cost at $2,500,000. Staff is currently negotiating the design scope with a consultant and anticipates design commencement in late October 2021. Construction of the intersection improvements is anticipated in mid-2024. This budget amendment is to fund the design and ROW acquisition cost for the project. FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment in the amount of $290,000 is required to reallocate funds from Project 60172 into Project 60252. Staff analyzed current and future needs to ensure that the budget amendments will not negatively affect current and future financial commitments. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this Executive Summary.
