Opening
Meeting was called to order by Chair Jaskiewicz at 10:00 A.M. Roll call was conducted,
and quorum was met. Minutes from April 8th were approved, with one correction of a
name.
New Business:
Law Enforcement
• Lt. Carrillo reported out that there is nothing new on the CCSO side, other than certain
crimes spiking due to COVID-19 restrictions be lifted.
Chairman Jaskiewicz
• Chairman Jaskiewicz brought up his interest in stepping down as current Chair and
allowing someone else to take the role. Director Summers said he would look into the
process further.
Old Business:
Dan Summers:
• Update on COVID-19 efforts: All operations from the State and county levels will be
turned back to Health Department at the end of the month. Clinic hours will resume at
DOH, and there are plenty of available options to get vaccinated.
• Sheltering and COVID-19 protocol for hurricanes - Currently, Emergency Management is
waiting on best practices from FEMA and CDC.
• The voting member for Department of Health has resigned and is no longer a Citizen
Corps member. DOH and EM working on the vacancy.

• Update on EM’s preparedness and logistical efforts
• EM and EMS staff conducted annual walk-through at Palmetto Ridge High School, the
county’s designated Special Needs Shelter. Amy Howard and DOH are working on
triaging the Special Needs clients and making sure the most critical will be accepted.
• Mike Shaw - update on WebEOC, as well as getting the EOC ready for activation if
needed.
• William Lang’s efforts to increase Alert Collier registration
Chairman Jaskiewicz
• Suggested education towards boat owners and residents to properly secure boats during
storms. Emergency Management will look into further, or record something on Facebook Live.
William Lang - LMS
• Discussed the three grant projects/funding
o Fire Mitigation Assistance Grant
o Hurricane Dorian closed May 24, 2021 (Tier 3 funding)
o Hurricane Sally Disaster grant is still open and will be closed on August 13, 2021.
o (It is tier 3 funding)
• The next LMS meeting will be on July 16, 2021, at the South Regional Library, the last one for the
year will be held on October 15th.
Mike Shaw - Training/Exercise Update
• CCEM hosted the All Hazards Incident Management Team course, May 3-7, 2021. It was
sponsored by Collier’s Healthcare Coalition, there were 25 attendees.
• Annual hurricane exercise: WebEOC simulation, meetings on hurricane response/recovery
efforts, test of Logistics Section and resource requests. Amy Howard bringing in Special Needs
call center team for training and client updating.
• ICS 300 August 3-5, and possibly another in November.
• ICS 400 August 17-18.
Individual Reports
Chris Byrne – Marco Island/CCFCA
• All the vaccine clinics on Marco Island are now ceased.
• Chief Byrne mentioned the efforts of the 14th Avenue fire
• The Fire Chief and LE have recognized an increase in marine activities/crimes.
Barry Gerenstein - C.E.R.T.
• In-person meetings have not resumed yet for C.E.R.T.
• Both North Collier Fire and Greater Naples C.E.R.T assisted with Covid Vaccines at NCRP.
• State Conference to be in Crystal River, FL. The National Conference has a high registration rate.

Lt. Jose Carrillo - CCSO
• Reported out on recent trend of vehicle break-ins.
Ashley Jones – Salvation Army
• The Salvation Army worked with the five families that lost their homes to the 14th Ave fire.
• Ashley and her team are wrapping up Hurricane Irma. Grant Volunteer Florida ends June 30th.
• FEMA individual Assistance Program Policy Guidance 1.1. It will be released in 2023.
• Discussed FEMA COVID Funeral Assistance funding. Dan Summers mentioned the Community
Foundation and some details on their efforts, especially in disasters. This program was used
during the 14th Ave Fire.
Mark Senda - CAP
• Both Naples and Marco Island are working aggressively to get in-person trainings back online.
• Marco Island CAP hanger was destroyed in IRMA and is now rebuilt to hurricane standards.
• Civil Air Patrol has provided the County with Coastal patrols and would like to continue to do so.
Ed Bonilla - RSVP
• Closing out grants, working on administration stuff, getting ready to transfer Cares Grants.
Updating logo’s branding, contacting volunteers.
• RSVP are trying to ramp up their public outreach program.
Chairman Jaskiewicz
• The new Coast Guard Auxiliary facility is almost done and soon will be utilized.
• The Coast Guard has one active patrol boat in the 10,000 islands for the back waters.
The next meeting will be held on September 2, 2021, 10:00 AM at the Emergency Services Center.
