Agenda 07/13/2021 Item #16E 5 (2021 Fiscal Year Pay & Classifications)07/13/2021 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to approve modifications to the 2021 Fiscal Year Pay & Classification Plan which consist of three new classifications, the removal of four obsolete classifications and three reclassifications made from April 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021. OBJECTIVE: To maintain a current and flexible pay plan that best meets the needs of the County. CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to Ordinance No. 13-40, the Board of County Commissioners has authorized the County Manager to make additions, modifications and deletions to the annual Fiscal Year Pay and Classification Plan, subject to retroactive ratification by the Board. This occurs three times during the fiscal year - in January, in April and in July. The modifications to the County’s 2021 Fiscal Year Pay & Classification Plan for the third quarter consist of three new classifications, the removal of four obsolete classifications and three reclassifications. FISCAL IMPACT: The actions that have a fiscal impact to the County in salary adjustments have been accounted for in each division’s FY21 budgets. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this Executive Summary. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal issues and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK RECOMMENDATION: That the Board approves the addition of three new classifications, the removal of four obsolete classifications and three reclassifications made to the 2021 Fiscal Year Pay & Classification Plan.
