Hello Mr. LoCastro, May we please take a few minutes of your time to voice our concerns for a new Habitat for Humanity project that is nearly ready final approval. We are a small community of the older generation and have in the past enjoyed our peace and quiet. Saying that we have high regards for the Habitat and what it does for our citizens in the community but in our case they are not considering our concerns. We have two Habitat projects around us now, one to the south and one to the east Regal Acres. In the past the one to the east has given us noise problems ( the sheriffs office has helped us frequently ) and with their residents cutting across the canal for a short cut to the store on 41. There is no buffer wall for the east existing project and they verbally promised to install one as part of phase II. The new project Majestic Place II to our north hasn't been given the final approval as far as we know yet. We have asked for the vegetation that is there on their south side to be left for a natural buffer just like the natural vegetation on their west side i Not in their plans. They are going to doze it down and plant new which will take up to 10 - 15 years to fill in and an 8 foot wall on a 4 foot of fill for their recreational area. This is the unsightly obstacle we will see as we look out our back yard. They reluctantly did move the wall back 25 ft as per the planning board. Also the recreational field is just on the other side of the wall and will be just as noisy as the basketball court in Regal Acres across the canal to the east We have spoken with Nick Kouloheras at Habitat often with our concerns of not enough buffer, noise from a recreational field, leaving the natural vegetation , etc. but he has finally refused. My neighbors and I want your office and you to be aware that if these plans are approved we have joined together to appeal. We do have a long list of concerns we have not raised yet Thank you for your vote against this project.
