George Yilmaz 2 Recommended Next Steps for Selection Discuss interview/selection process and timeline. Determine candidate pre-screening/screening process. Select candidate finalists for interviews. Set interview dates/times. Conduct interviews and select County Manager. 3 Background Screening Prior employer verification Reference (personal or professional) Education Verification Professional License Verification Driving Record Social Security National, Statewide and/or County Criminal Sexual Offender Registry Consumer Credit Workers’ Compensation Claims Salary Search & Verification Current vendor authorized to perform the following: 4 Other Screening Services to Consider The following are outside the scope of the current vendor, and the County would need to secure quotes from interested companies to perform any or all of these screenings: Civil Records search for litigation at Federal and/or County level Bankruptcy and Credit searches Internet Newspaper/publication Social Media 5 Anticipated Recruitment Timeline To be conducted at BCC Meetings or as determined by Commission: 2/9/2021 If desired, establish methodology to further narrow candidate pool. Determine if candidate pre-screening will be conducted and types of screening needed. (If yes, provide direction to staff for action.) 6 Anticipated Recruitment Timeline (con’t) 2/23/2021 - If candidate pre-screening to occur, review summary of qualified vendors to conduct process and select vendor. After vendor selection, expect process to take 3-4 weeks to complete. 3/23/2021 - Review background screening reports for finalists and set interview dates/times. 7 Anticipated Recruitment Timeline (con’t) 4/13/2021 (or other dates/times as set by BCC) Interview and select County Manager. Determine the salary and contract negotiation process. (Chair to perform? Subcommittee? Entire Commission?) 4/27/2021 – Review recommended County Manager contract and if approved, extend offer with anticipated start date. 8 Anticipated Recruitment Timeline (con’t) 5/11/2021 – Confirmation of employment offer acceptance by selected candidate. Early June 2021 – Candidate begins in County Manager position. 9
