Hello. We own a condo in Falling Waters. We were dismayed to hear of this planned huge development near Vanderbilt Beach. Even though we live a few miles from there, we and others
like us will still be affected.
We bought our condo in Naples a few years ago exactly because of this; we wanted to get away from the overdevelopment of Miami. The excess people, noise, trash, sometimes questionable
elements (especially during summer holiday weekends) who don’t care about trashing the beaches and partake of other objectionable behaviors much to the chagrin of peaceful locals,
systematic teardown of green areas, never-ending construction, flooding which is mostly due to paving over everything, lack of parking, traffic, etc. And we know from experience this
type of construction will mostly be conducive to weekly or weekend renters from nearby municipalities for use of the beach, especially in the summer. There are already enough condos
in Naples and Marco and other areas including Vanderbilt for this purpose, no more are needed. Hurricane season will become a nightmare should the need to evacuate arise.
These last few years since we bought our place we’ve been dismayed to see all the development that is now taking place or that has already taken place in what were once beautiful green
areas, including right behind our complex. We don’t need any more. There is already enough new development.
We urge you to vote against this proposal, for the common good of the residents. Thank you.
