Commissioner LoCastro,
Let me start by saying I am from district 2 so you can stop reading at this point if you so desire. I am opposed to One Naples because I believe it changes the nature of Vanderbilt
Beach to a degree that makes it unrecognizable. It takes this wonderful local beach town and turns it into a segregated high end community. It makes a shared historic beach area a
private escape. If I want to see impressive private escapes I only have to head over to Pelican Bay. Do not allow the wonderful public areas of Naples to be privatized.
I ride my bike almost every day to this area and walk on the beach and I fully enjoy the local small town feel. I hope you do not think I am opposed to all development and redevelopment.
This area is in need of an upgrade, however we should keep it within the scope of our original zoning so that this area continues to be available to all. Naples does not need higher
densities of people. high density redevelopment is an even bigger sin than overdevelopment in East Naples.
The commissioners keep ignoring density limits in our zoning. Individually your studies show these do not affect traffic flows. Collectively these additional people and cars are causing
more and more traffic. I can see the day where my 2.5 mile car trip to the beach will take more than 30 minutes. Please stop destroying our beautiful community. Money is not everything.
Sunsets are for everyone, not just the weathly.
Jim Kapp
