My name is Brad Potter. My wife Marilee and I reside at 8783 Coastline Ct (Apt 102) in The
Quarry. We purchased our property in February, 2020 and have greatly enjoyed our nearly
one year in the community.
We would like to express our strong support of the pending PUD Amendment for the Heritage
Bay PUD. We live right next to Limestone Trail (approximately 100 feet) and very likely
would not have purchased our property if we knew that Limestone Trail was not a private road
or if we anticipated it could every become a “public” road. The resulting noise and safety
issues would no doubt have a negative impact on our quality of life and our property value.
We certainly appreciate the thoughtful consideration by the Planning commission that
resulted in the 6-1 vote recommending approval of this amendment. Limestone Trail is a
privately owned and maintained road that allows residents of the Quarry and Heritage Bay
access to the Commercial Activity Center, per the original intent of the development plan.
The ability to install gates on the privately owned Limestone Trail is consistent with the
development of The Quarry and Heritage Bay and with the installation of gates on other
private roads in these communities. Absent this amendment, the installation of a traffic signal
at Quarry Drive and Immokalee Road would very likely lead to Limestone Trail becoming a
cut through route causing increased costs, noise, safety issues and an overall negative impact
to quality of life in The Quarry.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of the Amendment for the Heritage Bay PUD.
We hope you support this amendment and preserve the safety and quality of life in our
community.
