Ladies and Gentlemen,
My wife and I spent a number of years renting property in the Fort Myers/Naples area and elected to purchase a
coach home in The Quarry in early 2019 (8755 Coastline Ct #202).
I am sure that you are all aware of our community's concerns over the possibility of the County effectively “taking”
Limestone Trail, a private road maintained at considerable expense by Quarry property owners, for public use,
especially when this action will significantly impact the residents of this community from an economic, liability and
safety perspective without producing any measurable positive impact on ,or improvement to, the County’s plans for
improving traffic problems on Immokalee Rd. The recent tragic death involving a nonresident’s use of the road is an
unfortunate example of the liability and safety concerns we have. Using private property for public purposes and
asking a few citizens to pay for use by all citizens is not the American way.
I know Commissioners have a difficult job to do and must weigh the interests of all residents in their decisions, but I
strongly feel that a lot of harm to our community residents and little benefit to other County residents will result
from a decision to deny the PUD amendment.
Thank you for listening to our concerns.
Bill and Shirley Myers
