Petition # PUDA-PL20200000191 "Limestone Trail Rd"
Dear Board of County Commissioners:
Several of the residents (in surrounding communities around The Quarry) have been reviewing
the details involved with the said petition and wish to express our disfavor of the Quarry's
request. There is a new traffic signal starting today February 3rd (Woodhurst and Immokalee)
that the County / us have paid for to help traffic flow in and out of our communities. In the
Heritage Bay Project, several stores, a hospital, restaurants, etc. exist that we utilize. Avoiding
Immokalee by using the new light and driving on Limestone Trail is ideal to reduce
Immokalee traffic as the road was intended. We know that per FLUE Policy 7.3 and 9.3 of the
Transportation Element of the Growth Management Plan, the Quarry's request is not
consistent with these policies. As part of a surrounding neighbor, we also do not agree from a
logical standpoint. The intersection of Immokalee and Collier Rt 951, is just going to get
much worse as the Chik Fil-A, Aldi, Founders Square / The Point, all come to fruition.
Having the surrounding neighbors have to enter and exit the stated retail area's, using u turn
methods, just adds to the depth of the traffic and increases the danger involved.
We ask from a safety and from a neighbor standpoint, that the BCC deny the Quarry's request.
It is really going to be dangerous to be forced to do u-turns at the corner Immokalee / Collier
or on Collier Blvd. It will be much friendlier to cross Immokalee at the new signal!
Thank you for your consideration of the opposing viewpoint.
