Good day.
My name is Fred Burgerhoff and my wife, Karen, and I live at 9107 Graphite Circle in The
Quarry in Naples. We moved into The Quarry in November 2020 from New Jersey and really
enjoy the Naples lifestyle and The Quarry community in particular.
After moving in, we discovered that Limestone Trail was a convenient way to travel to the
shopping on Sage Avenue and Bellaire Bay Drive. It seems that the group of stores and
services there are ones we use frequently and Limestone Trail enabled us quick access to
them. We also found the trail to be a nice, quiet, safe place to ride our bikes and take our
evening walks and enjoy the serenity of the winding pathway.
When we moved in, there was little traffic on Limestone Trail and anywhere else, actually, as
the part timers were absent. Since the beginning of January, though, we have seen traffic
increase measurably.
We just learned that a Mini Golf enterprise is being built between to The Warehouse
restaurant and Goodwill. We also learned of the traffic light that will be going in at Quarry
Drive & Immokalee Road that will enable drivers to turn out of Quarry Drive and travel East.
Our concerns are that the expansion of the businesses on Sage and Bellaire coupled with the
traffic light will create increased traffic that will change the intended nature of Limestone
Trail. Specifically, drivers and trucks may use Limestone Trail as a cut-through from these
businesses to travel East on Immokalee.
Please consider the above information and grant approval for The Quarry and Heritage
Bay communities to build and maintain a gatehouse on Limestone Trail that would help retain
this as a safe, private road for residents.
Regards,
Fred and Karen Burgerhoff
