My husband and I have been residents of the Quarry since July, 2014, our address is
9735 Nickel Ridge Circle.
We strongly support the Pending PUD Amendment PL20200000191 for the Heritage
Bay PUD. We appreciate the consideration by the Planning Commission that resulted in
a 6-1 vote recommending approval.
We moved to the Quarry to enjoy the privacy and safety of this beautiful gated
community. If the proposed cut through is allowed, both our privacy and safety will be
jeopardized. The fact that Limestone Trail is privately-owned by the Quarry/Heritage
Bay seems to have been overlooked. The purpose of the road is for the Quarry and
Heritage Bay residents to access the commercial activity, as intended by the
development plans for the overall Heritage Bay PUD. With the installation of the traffic
signal at Quarry Drive and Immokalee Road we can certainly anticipate a substantial
increase in traffic as well as costs and liability exposure.
Over the past several years, the quality of our day-to-day lives has been adversely
impacted. Every day, we endure challenges due to the aggressive development along the
Immokalee Road corridor; Addison Corner, the Race Trac and now the future
development of Pelican Nursery.
That said, we believe it is imperative to install a gate on our privately-owned Limestone
Trail to protect the health, safety, welfare and quality of life here in the Quarry.
This is a critical issue for our community, we appreciate your time and consideration.
