E.4 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to authorize a $46,000 budget amendment for the 800 MHZ Intergovernmental Radio Communications Program, Fund 188 to address unexpected repairs incurred at a radio equipment shelter. OBJECTIVE: Obtain Board authorization for a $46,000 budget amendment from reserves for the FY 2020 operating budget in the radio system fund. CONSIDERATIONS: During the last quarter of FY20 unexpected repairs were required at a radio equipment shelter. The shelter roof and interior walls were damaged by a water leak. Funds were available in the radio system budget to cover repairs; however, the cost of the repairs and additional work depleted the available budget. As a result of these expenses an invoice for communication services of $52,000 was held for payment until FY 2021 budget was available. Since this invoice was for services in FY20 a budget amendment for $46,000 is needed in Fund 188 operating to cover this invoice. FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is needed in the amount of $46,000 from 800 MHZ Fund 188 reserves to Fund 188 operating budget 188-140480-646610 communication equipment. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact resulting from this action. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved for form and requires majority vote for approval. -JAB RECOMMENDATION: To authorize a budget amendment in the amount of $46,000.
