5. The Chairman's signature line date has been entered as the date of BCC approval of the SG
document or the final negotiated contract date whichever is applicable.
6. "Sign here"tabs are placed on the appropriate pages indicating where the Chairman's SG
signature and initials are required.
7. In most cases(some contracts are an exception),the original document and this routing slip N/A
should be provided to the County Attorney Office at the time the item is input into SIRE.
Some documents are time sensitive and require forwarding to Tallahassee within a certain
time frame or the BCC's actions are nullified. Be aware of your deadlines!
8. The document was approved by the BCC on October 13,2020 and all changes made SG
during the meeting have been incorporated in the attached document. The County
Attorney's Office has reviewed the changes,if applicable.
9. Initials of attorney verifying that the attached document is the version approved by the

RESOLUTION NO. 2020 --1-8-8
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING M-CORES PROJECTS
RELATED TO IMPROVEMENTS TO STATE ROAD 29, PROVIDED SUCH
PROJECTS DO NOT SUPPLANT OR DELAY EXISTING FDOT PROJECTS
IN COLLIER COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the Multi-use Corridors of Regional Economic Significance (M-CORES)
program is intended to revitalize rural communities, encourage job creation and provide regional
connectivity while leveraging technology, enhancing the quality of life and public safety, and
protecting the environment and natural resources. The program was signed into law by Governor
Ron DeSantis on May 17, 2019. The intended benefits include, but are not limited to, addressing
issues such as:
• Hurricane evacuation
• Congestion mitigation
• Trade and logistics
• Broadband, water and sewer connectivity
• Energy distribution
• Autonomous, connected, shared and electric vehicle technology
• Other transportation modes, such as shared-use nonmotorized trails, freight and passenger
rail, and public transit
• Mobility as a service
• Availability of a trained workforce skilled in traditional and emerging technologies
• Protection or enhancement of wildlife corridors or environmentally sensitive areas
• Protection or enhancement of primary springs protection zones and farmland preservation
areas; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is assigned with assembling
task forces to study three specific corridors:
• The Suncoast Connector, extending from Citrus County to Jefferson County
• The Northern Turnpike Connector, extending from the northern terminus of Florida's
Turnpike northwest to the Suncoast Parkway
• The Southwest-Central Florida Connector, extending from Collier County to Polk
County; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Legislature charged each Task Force with providing
recommendations and evaluations in a final report by November 15, 2020, which will guide the
Florida Department of Transportation in its subsequent study phases through the implementation of
high-level needs, guiding principles, and instructions; and
WHEREAS, the State of Florida encourages public participation in the M-CORES process.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Board of County
Commissioners support M-CORES projects relating to improvements within Collier County to State
Road 29, provided such projects do not supplant or delay existing FDOT projects in Collier County.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED after motion, second and majority vote favoring same
this 13th day of October, 2020.
