RESOLUTION NO. 2020-139A A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING ITS CHAIRMAN TO EXECUTE A FLORIDA HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION BEAUTIFICATION GRANT. WHEREAS, many roadside areas and median strips within Department of Transportation rights of way must be maintained and attractively landscaped;and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners for Collier County, Florida (the 'Board") beautify and improve various rights of way by landscaping within Collier County;and WHEREAS, the Board wishes to approve and authorize its Chairman to execute a Florida Department of Transportation Beautification Grant. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA that: Section 1. The Board hereby authorizes its Chairman to execute a Florida Department of Transportation Beautification Grant (Form 650-050-10). Section 2. Florida Statutes. Within Rule Chapter 14-40.Florida Administrative Code,are sections dealing with the grant application process,grant award process, and funding, construction, and maintenance of beautification projects. These documents can be reviewed on the FOOT website,JTttn://www.fdot.Rov/designsupport/highwavbeautificatlon/. When a decision Is made to apply for a Beautification Grant,please immediately notify the District Grant Coordinator. A directory of Grant Coordinators Is posted on the program website. The Grant Coordinator will provide guidance, and help ensure that no Department projects are in conflict with the grant project. Grant applications for landscape projects in conflict with other Department projects will not be accepted. SUBMISSION:Please complete all Items in this application. Upon examination of District One's five year Work Plan we have found no proposed FDOT projects, roadway or landscape,that will conflict with the proposed beautification project. Richard, DLA RE: Request for a Letter of Authorization to proceed with a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Beautification Grant Application for Collier Boulevard (SR-951)from SS Jolley Bridge to Capri Boulevard Dear Mr. Richard, On the behalf of Collier County Road Maintenance Division (CCRMD), I am requesting for you to provide an authorization from FDOT for us to proceed with the application process to qualify for a 2021 Beautification Grant. If awarded,the Beautification Grant will assist with funding for the proposed landscape improvements on Collier Boulevard (SR-951) from SS Jolley Bridge to Capri Boulevard that will be delineated in the formal application. The landscape improvements project limits for SR-951 (Roadway ID #03030000) are from Mile Post 2.908 (at the SS Jolley Bridge)to Mile Post 4.135 (at the Capri Boulevard intersection).
