EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve final acceptance of the Jasmine Lake Fire Hydrant, PL20110002448,
and to authorize the County Manager or his designee to release a Utility Performance Security
(UPS) in the amount of $443.36 to the Project Engineer or the Developer’s designated agent.
OBJECTIVE: To have the Board of County Commissioners authorize the County Manager, and Ex-
Officio Governing Board of the Collier County Water-Sewer District, approve final acceptance of the fire
hydrant, and to release a Utility Performance Security (UPS) in the amount of $443.36 which was posted
as a development guaranty for work associated with the fire hydrant utility facility located at Jasmine
Lake.
CONSIDERATIONS:
1) The utility work associated with this security has been approved by the Development Review staff
and the Developer has fulfilled his commitment with respect to this security.
2) Initially, the fire hydrant was privately owned, and the County had no responsibility for maintenance.
But subsequently, the County assumed ownership of this hydrant when it accepted North Naples Fire
Control and Rescue District’s fire hydrants at its September 29, 2009 meeting under consent agenda
item 16C3. A final inspection conducted on February 28, 2014, found the fire hydrant acceptable. A
final re-inspection by Development Review staff on July 23, 2020, found the fire hydrant acceptable.
3) Staff is unaware of any issues that would serve to negate the recommendation to release the
applicable security.
4) This final acceptance is in accordance with Collier County, Ordinance No. 2004-31, as amended.
FISCAL IMPACT: Approval of this Executive Summary will have no specific financial impact.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Approval of this Executive Summary will have no growth
management impact.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved as to form and legality, and requires a
majority vote for Board approval. -DDP
RECOMMENDATION: To approve final acceptance of the Jasmine Lake Fire Hydrant for Jasmine
Lake, PL20110002448, and to authorize the County Manager, or his designee, to release Utility
Performance Security in the amount of $443.36 to the Project Engineer or the Developer’s designated
agent. See Exhibit A.
