item after it is presented.
Please explain in detail the reason you are requesting to speak (attach additional page if necessary):
As a full-time resident and business owner of Collier County, I am concerned about the roll-out of 5G in
the County. Up until several weeks ago, I knew very little about 5G, but I have come to learn that there
are some very credible concerns about the health issues associated with 5G.
It would serve the Board well to slow down (and even abate) installation of 5G technologies in the
County long enough to obtain meaningful staff and public input on the issue so that the Commission
can make informed decisions on the topic moving forward. If there are clear and present dangers to
the citizens of Collier County from certain 5G technology being installed in our County, then it is not
enough to rely on the state or federal bureaucracies to give sound guidance.
It is in the interest of public health and safety to know the truth regarding whether 5G may cause serious
health risks to Collier Residents. Preliminarily, I have attached a few slides from a presentation by Joel
M. Moskowitz, PhD, from the UC Berkeley School of Public Health which outlines the numerous public
health risks associated with 5G.
I understand that at least one Commissioner has taken the position that the County’s “hands are tied,”
given the existence of certain state and federal mandates and guidelines that have purportedly stripped
local governments from having any substantive voice on the installation of 5G. However, if the County
were to determine that the installation of 5G in the manner proscribed by either state or federal law
was not in the best interest of Collier County’s citizens, then the County should direct the County
Attorney to determine the viability of legal action seeking declaratory and/or injunctive relief against
the state and/or federal mandates and the lawfulness of said mandates.

My goal in coming before the Board would be to determine the Board’s level of education on/interest
in the specific 5G technology being installed in the County and to provide some information sources for
the Board’s consideration. My hope is that the County will ultimately decide to undertake a meaningful,
independent investigation of the safety of 5G and the health implications for County residents and
visitors. The County’s inquiry should be undertaken and facilitated by independent experts that are not
linked in any way to the telecom industry to ensure the results of the investigation are accurate and
unbiased.
I love this County and appreciate all the hard and unprecedented work the Commission has undertaken
during this period of uncertainty. However, the need for diligence and critical thought is as high now
as it has ever been in any of our lifetimes. Let’s make sure we are diligently stewarding the health and
well-being of the Collier Citizens by at least considering the science behind 5G instead of blindly allowing
its rampant installation throughout the County by state and/or federal fiat.
I appreciate the Board’s consideration of this request.
