COLLIER COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 2004-05, AS AMENDED, REQUIRES
THAT ALL LOBBYISTS SHALL, BEFORE ENGAGING IN ANY LOBBYING
ACTIVITIES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ADDRESSING THE
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS), REGISTER WITH THE CLERK TO
THE BOARD AT THE BOARD MINUTES AND RECORDS DEPARTMENT.
REQUESTS TO ADDRESS THE BOARD ON SUBJECTS WHICH ARE NOT ON
THIS AGENDA MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING WITH EXPLANATION
TO THE COUNTY MANAGER AT LEAST 13 DAYS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF

2. Updated track information for Tropical Storm/Hurricane Emesto and its effects on
the citizens of Collier County, Florida (Presented by Emergency Management
Director, Dan Summers)

Recommendations:
. V oluntary evacuation for special needs citizens;
. Collier County Schools are closed tomorrow, Wednesday, August 30th
. Immokalee High School, Village Oaks Elementary, and Palmetto Ridge
High School are for voluntary evacuation shelters; also Immokalee Friendship
House
. Recommends to waive CAT fees for transport
. No trash pickup, and to secure landfill (to open back up at I p.m. on 8/30)
. Voting sites status will be determined by working with Supervisor of Elections

. Motion taken to have Waiver of CAT fees for people who need to evacuate
to shelters:

. Motion to recommend voluntary evacuation for people in: mobile homes,
blue roofs, or houses under construction in Everglade City, Chokoloskee,

. Motion taken to close the BCC Office on 8/30/06, but Sue Filson will

. Motion taken to give County Manager Jim Mudd authorization to
determine the status of County Offices and any alteration of hours of
business on Wednesday, August 30th - Approved 4/0
4. Other Comments
. Kevin Rambosk, UnderSheriff of CCSO spoke regarding an update on
emergency procedures through the Sheriff's Office
. Ray Baker, Superintendent of the Collier County Schools - update on
schools and usage as shelters and offer of transportation, if needed

RESOLUTION NO. 2006-205
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOLLOWING
ITS DECLARA TION OF A ST A TE OF LOCAL EMERGENCY FOR ALL
TERRITORY IN COLLIER COUNTY FURTHER PROVIDING FOR WAIVER OF
CERTAIN FEES FOR COLLIER AREA TRANSIT ("CAT") SERVICE DURING
TROPICAL STORM ERNESTO AND RECOMMENDING VOLUNTARY
EV ACUA TIONS OF THOSE RESIDENTS IN CHOKOLOSKEE, EVERGLADES
CITY, GOODLAND AND IMMOKALEE.
WHEREAS, on August 28, 2006 the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida
(the "Board") in Special Session adopted ProclamationlResolution 2006-204 declaring a state of
emergency for all territory within the legal boundaries of Collier County including all incorporated and
unincorporated areas; and
WHEREAS, The Board, having duly met in chambers on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 and being
further informed that Tropical Storm Ernesto has the potential for causing extensive damage to public
utilities, public buildings, public communication systems, public streets and roads, public drainage
systems, commercial and residential building and areas and may pose an imminent threat to the health,
safety and welfare of the citizens, residents and visitors of/to Collier County.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS RESOL VED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, in Special Session, this 29th day of August
2006, that:
1. The Board waives the fees for Collier Area Transit ("CAT") service from 2:00 p.m. to
dusk on August 29, 2006 for those persons utilizing the service for evacuation to
designated shelters and the return of those residents to their homes after the event.
2. Additionally, the Board has recommended the voluntary evacuation of those residents in
Chokoloskee, Everglades City, Goodland and lmmokalee.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority vote favoring same.
