Add-On Item 16H1: Proclamation designating March 2 – 6, 2020 as National Beta Club Week in
Collier County. Commissioner McDaniel will present the proclamation on March 4th to the
President of the Immokalee High School Beta Club recognizing the club’s positive impact on our
community and citizens for the past 64 years. (Commissioner McDaniel’s request)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board approve an Agreement with Intersport, Inc., to become a
cornerstone partner of the NaplesNEXT Ideas Festival, in the amount of $25,000, make a finding that
this expenditure promotes tourism and authorize the Chairman to execute the agreement subsequent
to County Attorney review.
OBJECTIVE: To approve an agreement for the County to become a cornerstone partner of the
NaplesNEXT Ideas Festival.
CONSIDERATIONS: The NaplesNEXT Ideas Festival (NNIF) is a two-day taught leadership
experience assembling innovators, cultural icons, policy experts, and influential business leaders in an
inspiring and memorable atmosphere that encourages idea generation and fosters new connections.
Hosted at the Naples Grande Beach Resort, the second annual festival will occur on March 2-3, 2020.
The purpose of County involvement in the NNIF is to: 1) further position Collier County as an innovative
community that is ideal for as a destination for tourism and business growth to a regional and national
audience; 2) drive new business by hosting prospects and existing clients; and 3) shine a spotlight on the
new Paradise Coast Sports Complex in front of an influential audience of community figures and business
leaders to promote Collier County as a future destination for meetings, conventions, sports and business
development.
In February 2020, staff was approached by Intersport, Inc. to become a cornerstone partner of the NNIF.
The partnership was centered around the integration of the Collier County brand into the overall festival
marketing plan, with a centerpiece being promoting the new Paradise Coast Sports Complex , which will
open in May of this year.
The proposed partnership includes Collier County designated as a Cornerstone Partner of the NNIF and
Co-Presenting Partner of the State of the Community Summit on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020 in partnership
with the Naples Children Education Foundation. Overall integration of Collier County into NNIF’s event
marketing materials include being featured on the website, event program, event signage, emails and social
media.
The cornerstone partnership will include eight (8) tickets to the NNIF, designated seating for Collier County
attendees, space in the NNIF attendee lounge for Collier County representatives to distribute Paradise Coast
Sports Complex marketing collateral to NNIF attendees, and promotional video for the sports complex will
be featured on screens throughout the conference.
Collier County’s attendance and sponsorship at the NNIF will help promote the destination on a regional
and global level to influential community organizers, members of the business community, and attendees
from a national audience.
FISCAL IMPACT: The cost of this sponsorship opportunity is $25,000. Funds are available within in the
BCC approved FY 20 Tourism Division budget in Fund 184.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no impact to the Growth Management Plan with this
action.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved for form and legality and requires a majority vote
