II. Review of December 6th, 2019 Meeting Minutes
Mr. Wiley elaborated on the last meetings review of Becca Ave., and stated that a culvert pipe
should be added instead of a dipped driveway.
III. Open Issues
None
IV. New Business
A. Repetitive Loss Areas (Chris Mason, FEMA Floodplain Coordinator)
Mr. Mason gave a presentation showing the GIS map with the repetitive loss
Bayshore/Gateway areas
The map shows how many repetitive loss claims are in the area (Repetitive Loss Claims
are defined as more than one claim within a 10-year period, of $1,000 or more).
A ¼ mile buffer was added.
The claims have to be made to FEMA.
There were 2,276 claims, with 140 to 150 being paid.
Mr. Santabarbara said that the GIS maps would be useful to cross-reference with future
projects by overlaying the maps.
B. Stormwater Priority Projects:
1. Coco Area Basin Sabal Shores
Debra Forester - would need more input on the report, what has been done and has it helped to
improve. Mr. Wiley said that he could not give input because he has only skimmed over the
report, and needed to take a closer look.
2. Becca Avenue
Needs new piping to help catch water, which would help the East End from the runoff. It will
cost less than $100,000, and there will be water in the swales to keep the saltwater out.
C. Next Meeting Date and Discussion Topics
February 21, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.
V. Adjournment
There being no further comment or business to attend to, Mr. Santabarbara adjourned the
meeting at 4:24 p.m.
