EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve two License Agreements requested by the State of Florida
Department of Transportation relating to County-owned property required for the upgrading of
traffic signal and related facilities on US 41 at its intersection with Airport-Pulling Road and with
Espinal Boulevard.
OBJECTIVE: To provide the State of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) with the
temporary right to use County-owned property for the upgrading of traffic signal equipment.
CONSIDERATIONS: FDOT is planning to construct roadway and related improvements to US 41 in
the vicinity of the Collier County Government Main Complex. These improvements include upgrading of
the traffic signals and related facilities on US 41 at two locations, namely the northeast corner of its
intersection with Airport-Pulling Road and the northwest corner of its intersection with Espinal
Boulevard. To that end, the License Agreement authorizes FDOT to occupy and use the County’s
property to slope, grade, tie in, harmonize and reconnect existing features of the County’s property with
the highway improvements that will be constructed by FDOT. In order to complete these improvements,
FDOT has requested permission to enter upon portions of the Collier County Governm ent Main Complex
property (FDOT Parcels 900 and 901), as more fully depicted on the aerial and exhibits to the two
License Agreements, all of which are attached.
Staff recommends that the County approve the attached License Agreements.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with this recommendation.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved as to form and legality and requires a
majority vote for Board approval. - JAB
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this
item.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve the attached License Agreements for FDOT Parcels 900 and 901
and to authorize the Chairman to execute same on behalf of the Board.
