RESOLUTION NO. 2006 - 16~
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER, FLORIDA, AFFIRMING AN APPLICATION FROM THE
ST ATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND
CONSUMER SERVICES, DIVISION OF FORESTRY EMERGENCY
HURRICANE SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000
WHEREAS, the State of Florida State of Florida, Department of Agriculture and
Consumer Services, Division of Forestry encourages counties to have community forestry
programs that support and sustain diverse and well-managed forest; and
WHEREAS, Collier County desires to mitigate the effect of recent hurricanes and to
reduce potential damage from future storms through the Lely Area Stormwater Improvement
Plan Exotic Vegetation Removal/Mitigation Project to benefit the Collier County residents and
visitors; and
WHEREAS, Staff is requesting that the Board of County Commissioners ratify the
authorization of the County Manager, or his designee, to apply for and administer the grant on
behalf of Collier County; and
WHEREAS, if funded, the grant will require execution of a grant agreement, which will
be presented to the Board of County Commissioners for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA that:
The Board of County Commissioners affirms submittal of a grant application and authorizes the
County Manager, or his designee, to apply for and administer the grant on behalf of the Board
with all understandings and assurances contained therein, and also authorizes Staff to act in
accordance therewith, provided, however, that agreement and/or other documents, if any, which
required further approval by this Board be submitted to the Board for approval as required.
