Agenda 12/10/2019 Item #16G 1 (Budget Amendment - Airport Equipment)12/10/2019 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to authorize budget amendments in the amount of $145,000 to replace airport equipment. OBJECTIVE: To replace antiquated or otherwise failing equipment required to maintain safe and efficient airport operations. CONSIDERATIONS: To address damage to the airport infrastructure in the wake of Hurricane Irma the Airport Authority suspended the replacement of aging operating equipment in order to fund repairs at all three airport facilities. After two years, repairs have been completed, and insurance reimbursements have been received to offset the expenses incurred. As such, during the fiscal 2020 budgeting process, it was anticipated that funds would be reallocated from Airport Capital Fund (496) to Airport Operating Fund (495) to fund the replacement of failing airport equipment. The following table depicts the failing equipment that requires replacement to maintain safe and efficient operations. Description Airport Estimated Cost 2006 Ford Freestar IMM $ 38,000 Toro Mower X01 $ 12,000 Waste Fuel/Oil Tanks IMM $ 15,000 2007 New Holland Tractor IMM $ 80,000 Total $145,000 FISCAL IMPACT: Budget amendments in the amount of $145,00 are necessary to transfer available funds from Airport Capital Fund (496), Hurricane Irma Project (50154), to Airport Operating Fund (495) to fund the equipment replacements. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this action. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal issues, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK RECOMMENDATION: To approve and authorize budget amendments to transfer $145,000 from Airport Capital Fund to replace old, deteriorating equipment.
