Agenda 12/10/2019 Item #16B 1 (CRA Grant Agmt. - Flick)12/10/2019 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners, acting as the Collier County Community Redevelopment Agency Board (CRAB), approves and authorizes the Chairman to execute a Commercial Building Improvement Grant Agreement between the Community Redevelopment Agency and David and Gloria Flick in the amount of $5,384.47 for property located at 2464 Kirkwood Avenue within the Bayshore Gateway Triangle Community Redevelopment Area. OBJECTIVE: To revitalize existing commercial facilities through the building improvement grant program established for the Bayshore Gateway Triangle Community Redevelopment Area. CONSIDERATIONS: The Commercial Building Improvement Grant Program (C -BIG) is a redevelopment initiative funded and administered by the Bayshore Gateway Triangle Community Redevelopment Area (BGTCRA) as partial reimbursement for exterior and interior improvements to commercial buildings within the redevelopment area. The C -BIG program funds both exterior and interior improvements to qu alified commercial buildings in the BGTCRA. Funding for interior improvements is contingent upon grantees performing exterior improvements. All interior and exterior improvements must be approved by the CRA Board prior to commencing any improvements. A C-BIG application was submitted by David Flick for a fifty (50) percent reimbursement to improve the exterior of the commercial property located at 2464 Kirkwood Ave and the owner received estimates for the exterior improvements. The lowest estimates total $10,768.93 resulting in a total reimbursement request of $5,384.47. FISCAL IMPACT: Sufficient funds are available in Bayshore CRA Fund (187) to support the proposed grant reimbursement of $5,384.47. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: The improvements approved throug h the C-BIG program will further the goals, objectives and policies outlined in the Future Land Use Element for the Bayshore Gateway Triangle Redevelopment Overlay. ADVISORY BOARD RECOMMENDATION: the BGTCRA Advisory Board approved the application at the N ovember 5, 2019 regular meeting by a vote of 8 -0.
