A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE
RURAL LANDS ASSESSMENT AREA OVERSIGHT COMMm'EE
WHEREAS, Collier County is required by the State of Florida Administration Commission,
pursuant to the Final Order of Case No. AC-99-02, to conduct an assessment of the rural and
agricultural area of the County, including all lands designated Agricultural/Rural, the Big
Cypress Area of Critical State Concern, all conservation lands outside the County's Urban
Boundary, and Southern Golden Gate Estates; and
WHEREAS, on August 3, 1999, the Board concluded that it would create a citizens
committee to conduct a bifurcated analysis of the assessment area and to oversee the assessment
and development of comprehensive plan amendments for the Assessment area, excluding the
rural fringe area; and
WHEREAS, on December 14, 1999, the Board of County Commissioners adopted
Ordinance No. 99-87, creating the Rural Lands Assessment Area Oversight Committee, which is
composed of fifteen (15) members; and
WHEREAS, there are currently vacancies on this Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners previously provided public notice
soliciting applications from interested parties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMM:ISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. Graydon "Grady" E. Miars is hereby appointed to the Rural Lands Assessment Area
Oversight Committee for the remainder of the vacant term, said term to expire on June 22,2001.
2. James S. Howard is hereby appointed to the Rural Lands Assessment Area Oversight
Committee for the remainder of the vacant term, said term to expire on June 22, 2001, or at the
conclusion of the Committee's report to the Board of County Commissioners, whichever occurs
first.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority vote.
