EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint a member to the Golden Gate Estates Land Trust Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint one member to the Golden Gate Estates Land Trust Committee, to a term
expiring on October 13, 2023.
CONSIDERATIONS: This five member committee was created by Ord. No. 87-48, amended by Ord.
No. 87-98 and 94-40 to carry out the requirements, conditions and various provisions of an Agreement
relating to the use of land, or funds derived from the sale of land, conveyed to the Coun ty by Avatar
Properties, Inc. (f/d/a GAC Properties, Inc.) Applicants must reside within the subdivision known as
"Golden Gate Estates." Members must reside within one of the 5 phases within the Golden Gate Estates
area. Terms are 4 years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
Ms. Pat Humphries’ seat on this committee expires on October 13, 2019, and she has decided not to
reapply. The pending vacancy was advertised and applications were received from the following:

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its regular meeting on September 23, 2019, the committee
voted unanimously to recommend that Ms. Harrelson be appointed to the committee, to a four -year term
expiring on October 13, 2023. A recommendation email is included in the backup.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation, and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the appointment.
