EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to accept a distribution from The Raymond Carl Howard Credit Shelter Trust of
2003, in the amount of $19,438.92 to specifically be used for Collier County Emergency Medical
Services rescue work and authorize the Chairman to approve the required Receipt of Beneficiary,
Waiver of Judicial Accounting, Release of Liability and necessary budget amendment.
OBJECTIVE: To accept and appropriate a distribution from The Raymond Carl Howard Credit Shelter
Trust for Collier County Emergency Medical Services to provide rescue work in Collier County.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Raymond Carl Howard Credit Shelter Trust advised Collier County
Emergency Medical Services on June 6, 2019 that they are a beneficiary of the Trust of 2003 and are
entitled to a distribution in the amount of $19,438.92. The trust specifies that the funds must be used for
rescue work. The Raymond Carl Howard Credit Shelter Trust requires that the County formally approve
acceptance of the funds, execute a Receipt of Beneficiary, Waiver of Judicial Accounting, and Release of
liability, and confirm that the County will abide by the provisions set forth in the Trust by committing the
funds for EMS use.
FISCAL IMPACT: A Budget Amendment is needed to appropriate the $19,438.92 within EMS Fund
490.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality and requires majority vote
for approval. -JAB
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact resulting from this
action.
RECOMMENDATION: To accept a $19,438.92 distribution from The Raymond Carl Howard Credit
Shelter Trust of 2003 to be used for rescue work in Collier County, approve the required Receipt of
Beneficiary, Waiver of Judicial Accounting, Release of Liability and to approve a Budget Amendment to
recognize and appropriate the distribution.
