RESOLUTION NO. 2001- 443
A RESOLUTION REPEALING ALL PRIOR COUNlY
COMMISSION DISTRICT BOUNDARIES AND
ESTABLISHING NEW COUNlY COMMISSION DISTRICT
BOUNDARIES IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 124,
FLORIDA STATUTES AND THE FLORIDA CONSTITUTION.
WHEREAS, Article VIII, Section l(e), Florida Constitution, provides that after
each decennial census the Board of Commissioners shall divide the county into districts
of contiguous territory as nearly equal in population as practicable; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 124, Florida Statutes, requires that commission district
boundaries be as nearly equal in population as practicable; and
WHEREAS, the County Staff was directed by the Board of County
Commissioners on June 26, 2001, to reapportion the Commission District boundaries so
that the population of each commission district be as similar as possible, that
commission districts be as compact and regularly shaped as feasible, and that each
commissioner will remain in his or her current district; and
WHEREAS, the County Staff presented the proposed redistricting at the Black
Affairs Advisory Board meeting on October 15, 2001, and the Hispanic Affairs Advisory
Board on October 25, 2001, both of which were advertised public meetings for the
purpose of receiving comments from the public and to encourage public participation in
the redistricting process; and
WHEREAS, the County Staff has held advertised publlc meetings on October
22, 2001, at the Golden Gate Community Center, October 23, 2001, at the Collier
County Commission Chambers, and October 24, 2001, and November 8, 2001, at the
Immokalee Community Park, to receive comments from the public and encourage
public participation in the redistricting process; and
WHEREAS, qdvertised public notice has been provided regarding the
redistricting of the County Commission district boundaries.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNlY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:

Pursuant to the authority of Chapter 124, F/or/da Statutes, and Article
VIII, Section l(e), F/or/da Constitution, all prior County Commission
District boundaries in Collier County as adopted by Resolution No. 95-
290 are hereby repealed and the new boundaries are hereby
established to encompass the areas described below:
See attached Exhibit A, incorporated by reference herein.
2)
Pursuant to Section 124.02, F/or/da Statutes, the Clerk is hereby
directed to enter this Resolution upon the minutes and a certified copy
of this Resolution shall be published at least once each week for two (2)
consecutive weeks in the Naples Daily News.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority vote.

CONSTITUCI6N DE LA FLORIDA.
POR CUANTO, E1 Articulo VIII, Secci6n l(e) de la Constituci6n de
la Florida provee que luego de cada censo decenal la Junta de
Comisionados habr~ de dividir el condado en distritos de territorio
adyacente por igual en t~rminos de poblaci6n hasta tanto sea
practicable; y
POR CUANTO, E1 Capitulo 124 de los Estatutos de la Florida
requiere que los limites de distrito de la comisi6n sean iguales en
t~rminos de poblaci6n hasta tanto sea practicable; y
POR CUANTO, E1 personal del condado estuvo dirigido por la Junta
de Comisionados del Condado el 26 de junio del 2001, para repartir
nuevamente los llmites de los Distritos de la Comisi6n de manera que
la poblaci~n de cada distrito sea lo m~s parecida posible, que los
distritos de la comisi6n sean tan compactos y similares en forma
similar como sea factible y que cada comisionado permanezca en su
distrito actual; y
POR CUAi~TO, E1 personal del condado present6 la propuesta de
redistribuci6n de distrito en la reuni6n del Black Affairs Advisory
Board (Junta de Consejo de Asuntos de los Negros) el 15 de octubre del
2001, y el Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board (Junta de Consejo de
Asuntos de los Hispanos), ambas reuniones p~blicas promovidas con el
prop6sito de recibir comentarios del p6blico y para estmular la
participaci6n p6blica en el proceso de redistribuci6n de los
distritos; y
POR CUANTO, E1 personal del condado ha sostenido reuniones
p~blicas anunciadas el 22 de octubre del 2001, en el Golden Gate
Community Center, el 23 de octubre del 2001, en las C~maras de la
Comisi6n del Condado de Collier y el 24 de octubre del 2001 y el 8 de
noviembre del 2001, en el Immokalee Community Park, para recibir
comentarios del p~blico y estimular la participaci6n en el proceso de
redistribuci6n de distritos; y
POR CUANTO, los avisos de anuncios p6blicos han sido provistos
respecto a la redistribuci6n de limites de distritos de la Comisi6n
del Condadoo
AHOPd%, POR LO TANTO, SE HA RESUELTO DE PARTE DE LA JUNTA DE
COMISIONADOS DEL CONDADO DEL CONDADO DE COLLIER, FLORIDA, que:

De acuerdo con la autoridad del Capitulo 124 de los Estatutos
de la Florida y el Articulo VIII, Secci~n l(e) de la
Constituci6n de la Florida, todos los limites de Distrito
anteriores de la Comisi~n del Condado en el condado de Collier
seg~n adoptados por Resoluci~n N~m. 95-290, quedan por este
medio revocados y los nuevos limites se establecen por este
medio para abarcar las ~reas descritas abajo:

De acuerdo con la Secci6n 124.02 de los Estatutos de la
Florida, se le autoriza al Oficinista para que entre esta
Resoluci6n con sus minutas y que publique una copia
certificada de esta Resoluci~n por lo menos una vez a la
semana en por lo menos dos (2) semanas consecutivas en el
Naples Daily News.
Esta Resoluci6n fue adoptada luego de una moci6n, secundada
con voto de mayor£a. Fechado este 13 dia de noviembre del 2001.

de M~xico y la linea norte de la Secci6n 34, la municipalidad 50 sur,
llegando al este de la 25, Condado de Collier, Florida; desde alli a
lo largo de la linea norte de dicha Secci6n 34 (que tambi~n es el
limite sur de la ciudad de Naples), hacia el este al centro de Dollar
Bay; desde alli a lo largo del centro de Dollar Bay, hacia el sureste
al centro de Lely Outfall Canal; desde alli a lo largo del centro del
Lely Outfall Canal, hacia el noreste al centro de la carretera US 41;
desde alli a lo largo del centro de dicha carretera, hacia el noroeste
al centro de Davis Boulevard; desde alli a lo largo del centro de
Davis Boulevard, hacia el este al centro de County Barn Road; desde
alli a lo largo del centro de County Barn Road, hacia el sur al centro
de Cope Lane; desde alli a lo largo del centro de Cope Lane, hacia el
este al centro de Sunset Boulevard; desde alli a lo largo del centro
de Sunset Boulevard, hacia el sur a la linea norte de la Secci6n 16,
la municipalidad 50 sur, llegando al este de la 26; desde alli a lo
largo de la linea norte de dicha Secci6n 16, hacia el este a la
esquina noreste de dicha Secci6n 16; desde alli a lo largo de la linea
este de dicha Secci6n 16, que es tambi~n el limite este de la pista de
aterrizaje sur, hacia el sur al limite norte del Naples Lakes Country
Club; desde alli a lo largo de dicho limite norte, hacia el este al
centro del County Road 951; desde alli a lo largo del centro del
County Road 951, hacia el sur a la carretera US 41; desde alli a lo
largo del centro de la Carretera Estatal 951, hacia el sur al centro
de Manatee Road; desde alli al centro de Manatee Road, hacia el este
al centro de la carretera US 41; desde alli a lo largo del centro de
dicha carretera, hacia el sureste al centro del County Road 92; desde
alli a lo largo de dicha carretera, hacia el suroeste al centro de
Marco River; desde alli a o largo del centro de Marco River, hacia el
este y sur hasta el punto que queda a 3,500 pies sur del Coon Key
Light; desde alli suroeste al punto m~s al sur de Cape Romano; desde
alli a lo largo de la costa este del golfo de M~xico, hacia el
noroeste hasta el punto de comienzo.
Distrito 2 - Comenzando en la intersecci6n de la costa este del golfo
de M~xico y la linea de la secci~n norte de la Secci6n 6, la
municipalidad 48 sur, hasta el 25 este, condado de Collier, Florida;
desde alli a lo largo de la linea noter de las Secciones 6 y 5 de
dicha municipalidad y alcance (tambi~n conocida como la llnea del
limite del condado de Lee y el condado de Collier), hacia el este al
centro de County Road 901 (Vanderbilt Drive); desde alli a lo largo
del centro de dicha carretera, hacia el sur a la esquina noroeste de
la Secci6n 9 de dicha municipalidad y alcance; desde alli a lo largo
del l£mite norte del condado de Collier, hacia el este al centro de la
carretera Interestatal 75 (I-75); desde alli a lo largo del centro de
dicha carretera 1-75, hacia el sur del centro del County Road 862
(Vanderbilt Beach Road); desde alli a lo largo del centro del County
Road 862, hacia el oeste al centro de la linea de transmisi~n de
Florida Power and Light (FPL); desde alli a lo largo del centro de
dicha linea de transmisi6n de FPL, hacia el sur al centro del County
Road 896 (Pine Ridge Road); desde alli a lo largo del centro del
County Road 896, hacia el oeste al centro de la carretera US 41; desde
alli a lo largo del centro de Seagate Drive, hacia el oeste a la costa

Distrito 3 Comenzando al centro de la carretera Interestatal 75 (I-
75) al llmite del condado de Lee y el condado de Collier, en el
condado de Collier, Florida; desde alli a 10 largo de dicho limite del
condado, hacia el este a la esquina noreste de la Secci6n 10, la
municipalidad 48 sur, llegando al este de la 26; desde alli a lo largo
de la linea este de las Secciones 10, 15 y 22 de dicha municipalidad y
alcance, hacia el sur hasta la intersecci6n de County Road 846
(Immokalee Road) y County Road 951 (Collier Boulevard); desde alli a
lo largo del centro del County Road 951, hacia el sur al limite norte
del Naples Lakes Country Club; desde alli a lo largo de dicho limite
norte del Naples Lakes Country Club, hacia el oeste a la linea este de
la Secci6n 16, municipalidad 50 sur, a la 26 este; desde alli a lo
largo de la linea este de la Secci6n 16 de dicha municipalidad y
alcance, que tambi~n es el limite este de la pista de aterrizaje del
ala sur, tambi~n conocido como el limite este de la pista de
aterrizaje del ala sur, hacia el norte a la linea norte de dicha
Secci6n 16; desde alli a lo largo de la liniea norte de dicha Secci6n
16, hacia el oeste al centro de Sunset Boulevard; desde alll a lo

Drive; desde alli a lo largo de dicha extensi6n imaginaria, hacia el
este al centro de lado final oeste de Seagate Drive; desde alli a lo
largo del centro de Seagate Drive, hacia el este a la intersecci6n de
la carretera US 41; desde alli a lo largo del centro del County Road
896 (Pine Ridge Road), hacia el este al centro de la linea de
transmisi6n de Florida Power & Light (FPL); desde alli a lo largo del
centro de dicha linea de transmisi6n, hacia el sur al Golden Gate

municipalidad 48 sur, llegando al este de la 26, tambi~n un punto en
el limite del condado de Lee y el condado de Collier, en el condado de
Collier, Florida; desde alli a lo largo de dicho limite del condado de
Lee y el condado de Collier, hacia el este al punto donde dicha linea
fronteriza vita y continua hacia el norte; desde all£ continua a lo
largo de dicha linea fronteriza del condado de Lee y el condado de
Collier, hacia el norte hasta que dicha llnea fronteriza vita y
continua hacia el este; desde alli contin6a a lo largo de dicha linea
fronteriza del condado de Lee y el condado de Collier, hacia el este
hasta el punto donde dicha linea fronteriza vira hacia el norte; desde
alli a lo largo de dicha linea fronteriza, hacia el norte hasta el

hacia el este al punto donde dicha linea fronteriza se encuentra con
la linea fronteriza del condado de Collier y el condado de Broward;
desde alli a lo largo de la linea fronteriza del condado de Collier y
