Mr. Mudd reads:
The American Heart Association would like to honor citizens who, throughout the year, have made a
significant difference in the outcome victims of sudden cardiac arrest.
These citizens, many, whose occupations are far from the medical realm, can make a difference in an
emergency, during the first few minutes prior to the arrival of the EMS Department.
Today, we would like to honor a group of those citizens.
Les Williams reads:
Thanks to the continued support of the Board of County Commissioners, the public Automatic External
Defibrillation (AED) Program here in Collier County has been a model that other communities have
attempted to duplicate. Through this AED Program, thousands of citizens, not in the medical profession,
have been trained in CPR and how to operate an AED if an emergency should ever arise.
Today we are honoring II citizens for their efforts in medical emergencies throughout the year.
Walter and Michelle Kopka for their quick actions while in church in the spring of2007.

found at the bottom of a swimming pool. She performed life saving procedures until EMS arrived. Her
patient 2 y, year old Enzo Oteri and his parents are joining us today.
Dave Burgham, Jim Kirk, and Parks Department employees Ramon Coriano and Ellen Barkin for their
