RESOLUTION NO. 2001-357
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING AND REAPPOINTING
MEMBERS TO THE COLLIER COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, on November 14,1995, adopted Collier
County Ordinance No. 95-67 which created the Collier County Airport Authority; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 95-67 provides that the Collier County Airport Authority shall
consist of seven (7) members that are residents of Collier County with business ability and
experience in one or more fields which include, but are not limited to, general business,
economic development, aviation, public affairs, law, finance, accounting, engineering, natural
resource conservation or other related fields; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 95-67 also provides that if possible, at least one of the seven (7)
members shall be from each of the communities of Immokalee, Marco Island, and Everglades
City; arid
WHEREAS, there are currently vacancies on this board; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners previously provided public notice
soliciting applications from interested parties; and
WHEREAS, the Airport Authority has provided the Board of County Commissioners with
its recommendations for appointment and reappointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
I. Monte Lazarus of the City of Marco Island is hereby reappointed to the Collier County
Airport Authority to serve a 4 year term, said term to expire on August 20,2005.
2. Stephen L. Price of Immokalee is hereby reappointed to the Collier County Airport
Authority to serve a 4 year term, said term to expire on August 20, 2005.
3. Dennis P. Vasey of the City of Naples is hereby appointed to the Collier County Airport
Authority to serve a 4 year term, said term to expire on August 20, 2005.
4. Bill West of the City of Naples is hereby appointed to the Collier County Airport
Authority to serve a 4 year term, said term to expire on August 20, 2005.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County
hereby waives the provisions of Section Seven (b)(I) of Ordinance No. 86-41, as amended,
relating to a limitation of two consecutive terms of office, for the purpose of reappointment of
Stephen L. Price and Monte Lazarus to this Committee.
