Re: Competency card rencwa1lnew
To whom it may concern.
I recently relocated back to Collier and re-applied for my cabinet installer's
compctcllcy l:IIld, I told that due to met because my previous card was more 1han \3
months "X})~"d that I would have take the business and Law lOOIDl over. After I had
compl~ the exam and passed I ntacted the 1icense board fur further ins1mctions and
what fee was due with my applicati n. I was astounded when the young lady claimed that
I had to pay $1,080 to "rcnew" my . ccnse. She said the COWlty commissioners had
passed a new ordinance some two onths ago which provided for license holders to pay
fur the years the liCClllle was not us or payed for. I talked with the head of the licensing
division and he claims that this is way the ordinance l'ClIds and there is nothing he can
do. He told me to speak with the co ty attorney, Mr. Zachary. Mr. Zachary said I had to
go before the board of commio.'lio
I am wondering why nOW this Ii
this is some sort of border tax and I
COfJlIllis~ioncrs.
has become a "lifetime" license. It seems as though
d like to plead my position before the county
I want to request that these fee's be uced for me and any other tradesmen in this
particular situation.
