Recommendation that the Collier County Board of County Commissioners approve
a budget amendment in the amount of $38,115 to fund engineering, surveying and
ecological consulting services for the extension of Runway 9/27 at the Immokalee
Regional Airport.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
OBJECTIVE: That the Collier County Board of County Commissioners approve a budget
amendment in the amount $38,115 to fund engineering, surveying and ecological
consulting services for the extension of Runway 9/27 at the Immokalee Regional Airport.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Collier County Airport Authority (Authority) and the Immokalee
Regional Airport Master Plan Advisory Committee (MPAC) have concluded that it would be
in the best interest of Collier County, the Authority, users of the Immokalee Regional
Airport, the surrounding communities, and the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems,
to preserve the necessary land to allow the extension of Runway 9/27 to a maximum
ultimate length of 10,000 feet.

Certain engineering and surveying services are necessary to provide a legal description of
a 103 acre parcel in order to negotiate the land acquisition necessary for near-term (1-5
years) runway extension of 2,750 feet, and a 108 parcel for the preservation of future
runway needs at the Immokalee Regional Airport. The cost for these engineering and
surveying services is $12,115.
Certain ecological consulting services are needed to provide an Environmental Impact
Statement (EIS) required by Collier County Community Development and Environmental
Services (CDES) for inclusiDn of the 103 acres for the near-term plan in the Immokalee
PUD Rezone. The cost to provide the ecological services for the Collier County EIS fDr the
103 acre parcel is $26,000.
Funding for these services is available in Airport Authority Capital Fund 497, Reserve for
Contingencies. A budget amendment in the amount of $38,115 is required to fund
engineering, surveying and ecological consulting services for the extension of Runway
9/27 at the Immokalee Regional Airport.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is needed to increase the Immokalee Regional
Airport Runway Extension Project by $38,115 and reduce reserves by $38,115.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact associated
with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Collier County Board of County Commissioners approve
a budget amendment in the amount $38,115 to fund engineering, surveying and ecological
consulting services for the extension of Runway 9/27 at the Immokalee Regional Airport.

AND AUTHORIZING ITS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE Q. GRADY
MINOR AND ASSOCIATES, P.A. WORK ORDER # QGM-FT-3969-08-21 IN THE
AMOUNT OF $12,115 FOR ENGINEERING AND SURVEYING SERVICES
REQUIRED FOR THE LAND ACQUISITION FOR THE EXTENSION OF RUNWAY
9/27 AT THE IMMOKALEE REGIONAL AIRPORT.
WHEREAS, the Collier County Airport Authority (Authority) and the Immokalee

WHEREAS, funding for these survey services is available in Airport Authority Fund
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COLLIER COUNTY
AIRPORT AUTHORITY, that the Authority hereby approves and authorizes its Executive
Director to execute Q. Grady Minor & Associates Work Order #QGM-FT-3969-08-21 in the
amount of $ I 2,115 for necessary engineering and surveying services for the land acquisition for
the extension of Runway 9/27 at the Immokalee Regional Airport.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED by affirmative majority vote of the Collier County
Airport Authority this 11th day of August 2008.
