EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners adopt a
Resolution re- establishing the Collier County Parks and Recreation
Department Facilities and Outdoor Areas License and Fee Policy
superseding Resolution 2007 -32.
Objective: To establish a revised Fee Policy to generate additional revenue to
offset rising program and facility costs.
Considerations: During the FY08 /09 Budget discussions, the Board of County
Commissioners requested that Parks and Recreation staff increase revenue by
$400,000. The Parks and Recreation Department have identified three (3) areas
within our services that can provide the requested $400,000:
a) Increase daily beach parking fees from the present cost of $6 to $8
resulting in projected revenue of $300,000.
b) Increase the admission fee at Sun N Fun Lagoon for persons over 48"
from the present cost of $10 to $12 resulting in projected revenue of
$50,000. Residents that show a Collier County drivers license will
receive a $2 discount off the over 48" admission fee.
c) Recommend that all admissions be plus tax. Currently we include tax
in the admission fee. This will result in projected revenue of $50,000.
Legal Considerations: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's
Office and is legally sufficient for Board action. - CMG
Fiscal Impact: The revenue associated with this fee schedule are proposed and
incorporated into the FY08 /09 budget within the general fund (001).
Growth Management Impact: No growth management impact is associated
with this action.
Recommendation: That the Board of County Commissioners adopt a Resolution
re- establishing the Collier County Parks and Recreation Department Facilities
and Outdoor Areas License and Fee Policy superseding Resolution 2007 -32.
